FIXTURES FOR NEW SEASON TO BE COMPILED TOMORROW

 

Tomorrow, 2 September 2005, during the first IASC council meeting for the forthcoming season, the fixtures for the new season shall be compiled.

Birzebbugia Tigers in their sixth season affiliated with this association and for the fifth consecutive year competing in the first division, will know who will be the opponents in their seasonal debut. Once again, Sta Lucia ground will host all matches from the Inter Amateur Soccer Competition, played on sunday morning. The league format, unique in the world of modern football, see 9 teams battle through only one round of matches, gaining only two points for a win, a system now obsolete from all world-wide football competitions. Moreover, the 1st and 2nd division leagues see their conclusion in early February, with all teams then partecipating in other various competitions, namely the Amateur Cup, the Inter League, the Coca Cola Cup and the Knock Out, with games protruding up to mid-May.

Our opponents in the 1st Division will be Cospicua St Thomas, Floriana Ajax, Luqa Juniors, Mosta Gunners, Msida Red Stars, Sta Lucia, Senglea Youngsters and Zurrieq Wolves
